Two wheels.
Since 1890.

Iron Stable is the newest chapter of a business that started in a Northumberland bicycle shed.

Six chapters, one story

1890

The shed

Septimus Jennings starts repairing bicycles in a garden shed on Old Lane, Morpeth. A six-man shop on Bridge Street follows, and by 1912 it is a registered company, S Jennings Ltd.

1917

The motor age

Ford appoints the firm as one of its first dealers in Britain. Jennings will sell and service Fords for the better part of a century.

2005

New hands

A management buyout puts Nas Khan in charge of the century-old firm. Within ten years its turnover passes £170 million.

2015

Back to two wheels

The group takes over Leeds Harley-Davidson, opened three years earlier by Nas Khan’s son Sohail. A business born fixing bicycles is back on two wheels.

Independent again

The car dealerships are sold to Lookers PLC. The motorcycle business rides on under its own steam, with Stockton Kia alongside.

Today

The parts counter, online

Leeds Harley-Davidson, Iron City Motorcycles and Stockton Kia are the group today. Iron Stable brings the dealer parts counter to your door, across the UK and Europe.

On the record

None of this is brand mythology. The company history, from the Old Lane shed to the Lookers sale, is documented in the public record.

The next chapter is your Harley.
