Servicing transmission trapdoor bearings can be a headache, but this JIMS installer and remover tool simplifies the process for 1980 to 2006 5-speed Big Twins. It is designed specifically to handle OEM bearings 8998 and 8992. One of the biggest advantages of this tool is that it allows you to remove the transmission door for replacement without having to pull the entire transmission assembly out of the frame. This saves a significant amount of shop time. Note that because of the force required to pull the door off the transmission case using this method, the door bearings must be replaced as part of the service. It is a precision-engineered solution for maintaining 5-speed gearboxes.
