This KB Performance forged piston kit is sold as a set and provides a .040-inch oversize for 1941 to 1978 1200cc Knucklehead, Panhead, and Shovelhead models. Forged from 4032 aluminum alloy, these pistons are designed to withstand the rigors of vintage Big Twin operation while resisting cracking under pre-ignition. They feature a domed head for an 8.5:1 compression ratio and come complete with rings and offset wrist pins. Due to the forging process, you should allow for an additional .001 inch of wall clearance compared to cast pistons. Proper orientation is critical because of the offset pins, so ensure the front and rear sections are positioned correctly according to the included instructions.
