This KB Performance forged piston kit is designed for 1941 to 1978 1200cc Knucklehead, Panhead, and Shovelhead engines requiring a +.030 inch oversize bore. These pistons deliver a steady 8.5:1 compression ratio with a 112cc head, serving as a high-strength replacement for original cast components. Machined from 4032 high-silicon alloy, these forged pistons offer the flex needed to resist cracking under detonation. The kit is sold as a set and includes offset wrist pins, retaining rings, and piston rings. Like all KB forged pistons, these require a slightly wider piston-to-wall clearance of about .001 inch. Ensure the pistons are installed in the correct front and rear orientation as indicated by the offset pins to maintain proper engine balance and reduce wear on the cylinder walls.
